Happenings!!
Okay, there is quite a bit to report. A lot has happened since my last entry, but I'm too exhausted to get into it right now.

Miss Jones.
Well, getting into UNIT was no problem at all... because I found my psychic paper. As far as they were concerned, I was a health and safety inspector. They seemed to have taken some damage. Whatever attacked NYC also got in to UNIT. I managed to find an empty computer room and got onto their servers. Whatever attacked the city also attacked the rest of the world. London, Germany, everywhere. I didn't manage to find out much more though as the servers crashed.
I walked out of that room and poked around a little more. And then I accidentally walked into their main room. I should really pay more attention to where I'm going. There was no way now that I could pretend to be health and safety. Still, I had a plan for to fall back on. I really didn't wnat to do it, but I had no choice. I triggered a Code Nine.
I told them that I was the Doctor. Almost straight away a young woman was hugging me, which seemed fairly random. Turns out that she travelled with the Doctor and is called Martha Jones. In order to avoid awkward questions I told her that I was suffering from amnesia as the result of regenerating. It is one of many side effects that can take place following a regeneration.
She was just about to explain things and she was called away. They still haven't got the servers back up but now I'm just about to tuck in to a nice big gammon with plenty of pineapple, and then sleep for a bit.

U.N.I.T.
They changed their name!! I liked "United Nations Intelligence Taskforce" so much better. Now for some unknown reason, they have renamed it "Unified Intelligence Taskforce". Blah!!
Here is there website: http://www.unit.org.uk/
I spent today scrounging some electronic equipment. I've built a couple of devices that should help me out. I also walked past a lot of food places today, and more than once I caught the smell of Chicken Tikka Massalla. I really want one. I've just realised that I haven't ate anything for days. I'm starting to get hungry.
I'll infiltrate UNIT tomorrow. Hopefully they won't see me. If they do, not much of a big deal, I have a way out of it, but hopefully it won't come to that.
Right. I'm now going to go and see if I can find an apple or something. Big day tomorrow.

Coma.
Okay, so I didn't post yesterday. Things got bad. I spent the last day in a self induced coma. It is a trick that I can do, if I need to, to help recover from a regeneration. My body is pretty much settled, my brain cells are still a little shaken but it should all be good now.
I'm going to spend tomorrow watching security. I wanted another after that, but with having lost a day yesterday, I can't afford it. My link to the TARDIS is becoming weaker by the hour. If I don't find her soon, she may die.
I've only been awake for an hour, but I have managed to find a couple of old electronic things to add to my sonic screwdriver, boosting its power slightly. How long it will last, I don't know.
Right, I am going to go now. I can take a look at the night shift and see if that makes things easier to infiltrate.

Problem?
Not much has happened today. I spent a couple of hours this morning in an Internet Café but haven't been able to find much out. Whatever happened, the governments have tried to cover it up as best as they can, they've deleted every trace. There seems to be no news items explaining what happened, which I find odd. Why no fake story?
I spent the rest of the day watching activity at UNIT headquarters here in Manhattan. I've been watching the security shifts and patrols. I shall continue to do so for a couple of days yet, but I don't really need to, I have already worked the patterns and drawn a plan. I just want a couple of more days for rest and nutrition. Something isn't quite right.
The regeneration is going wrong. I'm still bursting with energy and my cells are still restructuring themselves. Ideally I need to use the Zero-room in my TARDIS, but I don't have that.
I'm going to rest now. The more I do the better. I have been to active lately, I haven't had a chance for much rest so the regeneration hasn't really had a chance to settle.
Any way, I'm going.

Getting Nowhere.
Okay. I haven't slept since I got here. I can't get this scanner to increase its range. I may strip it and do a complete rebuild. I've raided some trash cans but haven't come across anything helpful yet, which in a city this large, is a little odd.
I'm trying to figure out what the hell happened here. Security is so tight, I can't get anywhere near any of the construction sites. I can't find any information about what happened. I have, however, found an internet café, so I shall see what I can find online when it opens tomorrow.
It has rained practically all day. Hard. I loved it. After being on a desolate, flat land under a blazing sun for a few days, it was a pleasant change. It was so refreshing.
I'm currently contemplating calling in on UNIT. I really don't want to, but I may have to soon. I'll give it a few days, see what happens. Although, I did take a brief look at their headquarters here in Manhattan. They seem to have taken quite a beating.
Right, now I need to get some sleep and think things over.

Closing the Rift.
I constructed a couple of matter bombs and crossed back through the rift. It was a damned close call. Had I can sixty seconds later... well, I wouldn't have been able to.
I passed through and the storm was already on top of me. Many times lightning struck mere millimetres away from me. I attached the two bombs to the archway that was keeping the rift open and set them for a five second countdown. I jumped back through and got back just in time. The bombs blew up behind me and the rift close just as I got back to Earth.
Now I'm stranded here indefinitely. My top priority right now is to track down my TARDIS. Easier said than done. My scanner has cleared up now that the rift isn't interfering with it, but it is low on power and my sonic screwdriver is about to give up. It won't give a full charge, it won't even always work. I need to find some materials to upgrade the scanner, which would be easier if I had some money.
I can feel the TARDIS in my mind, but she is so weak that it's barely noticeable. I can tell that she isn't well, the translation circuit seems to keep going on and off, fortunately I'm smart enough to speak and read every language anyway.
I'm going to leave the post here. There isn't much else to say really.

Rift.
So I finally arrived at the location of the signal that I have been tracking. It turned out to be a spatial rift. After making sure that it was safe, I passed through it and arrived at Earth. I still don't know which planet I have come from, but I shall be crossing back soon.
I need to find out why this rift is here. It is artificial, which is worrying, as it means that some one put it there on purpose, but why? At first I thought that it could have been used by some of the settlers to escape, but there was no sign of anyone having walked around there in years. I'm also curious as to why it came out in Manhattan. I'm also curious as to what has happened here. The whole city seems to be rebuilding itself. It looks like it was attacked by energy weapons. I've not been able to find much, but it is the entire city, and the same appears to have happened in London. This was never supposed to happen, I know that this is 2008. This should not have happened. Still, one thing at a time, I can figure the Manhattan/London problem out later. I have something else to worry about right now.
The storm is still coming this way, and if that rift to Earth is still there, it is going to pass through and destroy everything here in its path. The strange think is that the storm was joined by a second storm that came in perpendicular and and changed direction to head this way, like a person in the street meeting up with a friend and then heading to the same place. I know think that I know what happened to the settlements, but I shan't say yet, I still have a bit more information that I would like to gather.
I can shut the rift down, but I'm going to make a homing beacon that only I could find and leave it on the planet on the other side. I need to go back at some point, but I need to shut down the rift and I need to stay on Earth. I can feel my TARDIS here somewhere.

Nothing-ness.
Well, if they could I am fairly certain that my legs would kill me. I've been walking all day without stopping, until about three minutes ago. No settlements today. In fact, no architecture of any sort. A saw a couple of trees. No leaves. Not many branches, actually. They seemed relatively young. I'm sitting under one right now. Not even a bird in them.
Actually, that is a very good point. I haven't seen any wild life of any sort. There are no mountains in the immediate vicinity, just a small range in the distance. And I mean distance, at least a two weeks walk. I'll be done long before then. By this time tomorrow, actually.
Behind me, I can see a storm on the horizon. It looks very bad, very dark clouds and lots and lots of lightning Some of the clouds appear to be a dark red, which are lit up vibrantly by the lightning. It's beautiful to watch. However, I have scanned it and getting caught in it would mean instant death. It shouldn't catch up with me until tomorrow, so I'll be walking fast and hoping that wherever I end up, there's some form of shelter.

The Second Settlement.
The second settlement is worse. It took me about five hours to get here. This place is worse.
It is a bigger settlement, not very, but it is. There is no evidence of any fight taking place here, no defence. some of the skeletons have been burnt down, there's just half of a skeleton lying around in some places. Some buildings are completely burnt down.
If I had to guess, I would say that this settlement was hit first, and was either witnessed or some form of warming reached the other settlement, which is why there is evidence of a fight there. I have no idea who did this yet, but I shall find out. And I shall check any other settlement that I come across, and this world. And I shall make sure that this doesn't happen again.
I should be at the source of the signal by this time in two days. My senses are telling me that it is something pretty big, something that isn't supposed to be there. What, exactly, I am unsure of, but even my Time Lord senses are telling me that it is something that I should take advantage of as soon as possible to get off this planet. Naturally I intend to ignore those feelings.
I have left both settlements behind me, physically, at least. I don't see any other settlements on the horizon so there should not be anything to delay me tomorrow. For now, I am going to walk for a few hours, I still have a lot of energy left from regeneration that I need to burn off. I may sleep a bit later. For now, I need to keep moving.

Trouble?
Now I know why my human self had no civilised contact with any locals. They are all dead.
I had been tracking the signal for two hours and eventually came across a small settlement. The place was destroyed. Buildings lay in ruins, corpses lay around, their flesh clearly melted off of their bones. There had obviously been a fight. It was laid out a little like a western. The street was deserted except for a few corpses that lay in the street, behind objects for shelter or in the middle of the street, rifles and pistols next to them. They had clearly been fighting to defend the settlement.
I didn't look too closely, but it seems that this could have happened any time between 40 and 50 years ago. I'll leave that for the archaeologists, no doubt that they shall be here one day. Maybe they shall receive a couple of nudges and hints from somewhere. ;)
The site clearly hadn't been disturbed in all that time, which means that no one from any neighbouring settlements came to help. Maybe they weren't able to. I just about make out another settlement on the horizon, since I'm heading that way, I shall take a look at it, but the same thing appears to have happened there.
Maybe there are other settlements somewhere, but I can not see any for now.
I am currently camped out under a tree. It seems a little strange that in this flat, sandy landscape, there is one tree randomly standing. I scanned it first just to be safe, but it appears to be as it appears to be. A tree.
Now, I have a long walk ahead of me so I'm going to sleep for a few hours, this has been a long day. Fourty-nine hours, twenty-seven minutes and three point four seconds, to be precise. That is the time that it takes for this planet to make a full rotation. I worked that out in the first five seconds after I got my body back.

Sonic Aid.
I've managed to clear up the signal on my scanner a bit. I don't think that I can clear it up any more. I managing to just about make out something but it seems quite far away. I shall start tracking it tomorrow.
I found my sonic screwdriver today as well, which is how I was able to clear up the signal. The sonic still works, so my TARDIS must still be alive somewhere, as the screwdriver draws its power from the TARDIS. However, I don't think the TARDIS is healthy. The screwdriver cuts off every now and again and the strength of it isn't very stable. At least I know that she is alive somewhere, which is good. Not knowing where isn't as good. I can barely feel her in my mind, no where near enough to call her to me.
Tomorrow I shall start tracking this signal and explore a little if I can.

My Emergence.
I have spent years trapped. Alone with my thoughts, alone with what my own people had done to me. I have no idea what has happened to them.
That's a lie. I do. I do know what happened to them because I was there just before it happened. Just before they changed me and sent me away. I won't believe it though. Until I see it with my own eyes, and now I know that I have eyes, until I see it with them, I refuse to accept what has happened.
I'm not entirely certain where I am right now. Judging by the smell, I think that it's somewhere in the Verticon Expanse, but in the years that my human version has been here, he didn't have much contact with civilisation. Mainly because there isn't much here.
Now that I am back in my body, I can finally get on with finding out what happened in the war. Just as soon as I find a way off of this planet.
I'm still trying to get used to this new body. I don't know anything about myself right now, I am a little interested in finding out what I am like, but for now, that can wait.
It feels so good to be out of the watch. However, since I was made human and my true self locked into a watch straight after regeneration, I am still regenerating, and being locked in the watch meant that all of that energy was compacted into a small space and built up, so I'm bursting with it more than I should be, however, there don't seem to be any side effects from the regeneration. At least, not yet. Hopefully it stays that way.
I have managed to make myself a basic scanner, something is interfering with it though and I can't get any clear signals.
Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to try and improve my scanner.
Have a good night.
